Walk the line

We don’t worry about jaywalkers around here … or haywalkers.

In fact, haywalking is strongly encouraged at family functions.

It keeps kids occupied for hours.

It’s also a useful tool for expending energy.

First we make them run laps.

Then they practice marching. Practice makes perfect, you know.

The next time I say in my stern-mommy voice:
“I want you to go right back there and pick up that mess, now — march!”
They will all know exactly what I mean.

Marching practice always leaves them famished.

So we feed them. And then it’s right back at it.

That sure looks like fun! I remember one time when Mother Goose and I layed on our backs and watched the fireworks lighting up the sky on some of those!
