Groundhog Day
Posted by Farmgirl on February 2, 2010
Six more weeks of winter.
That’s the official report from Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil. Ohio’s official weather-predicting groundhog — Buckeye Chuck — concurred. Amidst the groans and fist-shaking, Punxy’s keeper yelled, “Don’t shoot the messenger.”
Hmm. Around here we shoot ‘em all the time. Then we eat ‘em. Especially when they’re made from chocolate and frosting and almond slivers, and have coconut whiskers and blueberry eyeballs.
Have I mentioned my babysitter is akin to Mary Poppins? Practically perfect in every way. Yesterday she helped the kids make this creation.
No matter our personal opinions about six more weeks of winter, we’re going to have a Groundhog Day celebration.
We have our cake — and we’ll eat it, too!

LOVE the cake Jen! thanks for sharing:-)
Awe! So cute! “Mary Poppins” is an amazing babysitter and friend!!!
She is the greatest neighbor anyone could have also! yea for MARY POPPINS
Mary Poppins really needs to stop baking, though, or her umbrella won’t be able to lift her anymore! I guess we’ll do something with green beans and spinach for St. Patty’s Day!
