Some days I haven’t a clue — but that’s part of the journey. I can tell you I’m a fun-lovin’ 30-something wife and mother of three living in the rolling hills of rural Ohio. I thrive on fresh air, wide open spaces, sunshine and solitude.
I write … everything and anything — for myself, and for others who have a story to tell.
I feed and tend … one man, his kids, cats, dogs, chickens, horses and cows. There was a goat, but she’s gone to live with folks with fewer flowers. I keep a home … striving to fill it with love and laughter. I favor rustic wood, fluffy pillows, cowhide rugs, natural elements, antlers, crayons and kid clutter. I don’t buy wall decor. I photograph everyday life and put it in a frame. Memory keeping.
What else can I tell you? I get lost in a good book … hate reading directions … once entered a hog-wrestling contest … hate talking on the phone … sold nightcrawlers as a youngster … won a grand champion steer banner … wanted to be a veterinarian … lived in Poland for four months … finished college in three and a half years because I couldn’t wait to get on with life. I love to shoot arrows, clays and the occasional squirrel. Retreating to the woods is a family tradition. I play the piano at church on Sundays. Over the years I’ve learned that death hurts us, but it’s a blessing to the suffering and a beautiful, mighty reward for the heaven-bound. I’ve also learned that young, healthy husbands can have heart attacks. And we don’t know how strong we are until the need arises.
Oh and … I’d rather write a 10-page essay than take a multiple choice test. I home-school my kids because it best suits our lifestyle. Road trips invigorate me. I’ve been known to travel around with a bunch of other women in an RV bound for a Twilight movie or two. Once in costume. Also … wow, you’re still reading! I’m really not that interesting.
