I keep a home … striving to fill it with love and laughter. When it comes to decorating I favor rustic wood, natural elements and other farmhouse matters. I love to photograph everyday life and put it in a frame. Memory keeping. I thrive on fresh air, wide open spaces, sunshine and solitude. I’m a writer by profession, but I crave words and sentences in my spare time, too. I was blogging before blogging was cool.
Also, I … get lost in a good book, and love long walks alone. I thrive on woodland retreats and trips into the woods to look up for inspiration. I homeschool my kids because it best suits our lifestyle. Fair week happens to be their favorite time of year. And we teach them to play as often as possible (after chores are complete, of course!). I love creating beautiful food and feeding my family and friends.
My family farm has been around for seven generations and I’m spoiled with access to farm-fresh fruits, vegetables and beef. Also, I live next door to a winery. The vintner is my brother! Retreating to the woods is a family tradition and road trips of any kind invigorate me. Over the years I’ve learned that death hurts us, but it’s a blessing to the suffering and a beautiful, mighty reward for the heaven-bound. We don’t know how strong we are until the need arises.
I’m thankful you’re here … meeting me for something tasty, something pleasing and perhaps for a snippet of inspiration and my own humble mumblings of faith in God’s merciful grace. I’m blessed by your interest and appreciative of your friendship.
