Turning grouchy into giggles

You’ll need one book about a grouchy ladybug, sugar cookies and a jar of frosting. And what will really, really help, is if Auntie comes along and takes your bossy sisters home with her, leaving you and your mama home alone. Together. Without interruption. Just the two of you to play and laugh and do things together.

And you get to answer all the questions and make all the decisions and be the star of the show. And your mama’s undivided attention is focused on you. That’s the best!

You get to read a good book and bake yummy cookies and help her frost them. And then she hands you a whole bowl of chocolate chips and says, “Make ladybugs!”

You get to do it all by yourself … nobody tells you how to do it and you don’t have to share. And when your sisters come back home you get to say, “I made these ALL BY MYSELF!”

That’s how you go from grouchy to giggling in a couple of hours.
