There’s no place like it

Boy playing in the snow

The week after the holidays means back to work, back to regularly scheduled life. We’re taking it easy this weekend … one of us will be playing in the snow (though this was last weekend and some of it has melted).

Girl crocheting

The girls? Among their chores, chatter and telephone scheming for overnight escapades with cousins, they will most likely be crocheting. Lime green girl, here, has been creating since Christmas. She received the necessary supplies from her sister. Crocheting is all the rage in our house. One of these days they’re going to have to teach me how to do it!

Crocheted headband

Headbands … ear warmers … whatever you want to call them. The girls believe these simple little accessories are their keys to financial freedom. They have plans, big plans.

Soup and cornbread

The man of the house is determined to restock the woodpile this weekend. I promised to do the stacking. I’ll also have a pot of something on the stove. Perhaps chili. It’s a chilly day for chili. There’s a Netflix movie on the counter for later this evening. Our plans are nothing exciting, nothing spectacular … just ordinary, family togetherness in the best place on earth. Home.

What does your weekend look like?

I love the headbands. I’d buy one. They’re so cute.

Sounds like you all are having a great weekend. I love the ones where nothing is planned. We are doing the same. We just came in from feeing animals, burning brush piles, and riding our horses.

    Now for a movie……

The soup in your picture looks delicious. Do you have the recipe here on your blog?

Roxanne, that soup was beef broth, can of fire-roasted, diced tomatoes, about a cup of red wine, carrots, peas, diced celery and noodles. Oh yeah, and about a 1/2 pound of ground sausage added (browned first).I just kind of threw it all together in a pot and boiled until the noodles were done. 🙂
