Party time and my most popular pin

Matchbox car birthday party

That’s it … the car cupcake photo. It’s been pinned 667 times. I made those tasty little treats on my son’s sixth birthday. We had the whole car theme going on — from a tabletop racetrack to spare tires to “go” juice. You can see it here.

For his fifth birthday we celebrated life in a fish bowl …

Birthday Bait Shop

The Birthday Bait Shop was a pretty big hit, too. Last year didn’t seem to have a theme. I’m not sure why we didn’t have a big shindig … but he wants one this year. He told me so this morning. “Matchbox cars!” he said, and then, “Oh, no. Wait, we already did that … AIRPLANES! Let’s do airplanes.”

Hmmm. Time to get creative and consult Pinterest. May’s a comin’ and right now birthday plans are still up in the air.

Ha!

How do you celebrate kid birthdays? Ours are usually family-only affairs with lots of good food and fun stuff for little people (who aren’t so little these days!). Suggestions for an airplane theme? I’m doing nose dives and tailspins at the moment. And hey, I’ve collected ideas for all the kids — check out my Pinterest Birthday Parties board!

Matchbox cars are probably still appropriate, right? How about placed on top of Jello shots? 😉
