Building shelves from black iron pipe

He thought I was nuts … but yes — yes! I wanted him to build bookshelves from 1/2″ black iron pipe and boards.

They don’t look like much now but I’m confident they will — and soon. We’re having Easter guests. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned after 16 years of marriage it’s this: when you need a project completed right quick, approach the subject about a week before a large family gathering is set to take place at your home. It puts your workers into ‘high gear’ so to speak.

Be sure to recruit lots and lots of help, too!

Before and after photos of this crazy project coming soon. Have a wonderful day!

I’m slightly jealous, and I can’t wait to see the finished project!

Oh, just tell Jim to get out the measuring tape and he’ll have it finished in no time!

This is a super idea! I did just go into a eating place that had used the pipe for door handles and it was really cute. In fact I am trying to talk hubby into doing a pipe handle for barn door.

I love the barn door idea! And they’d be so sturdy, too. We have a wooden handle that’s pretty wiggly. Hmm. A project for another day!
