Last Day Dawning

New Year's Eve 2014We could list resolutions and make promises and set goals and press on in search of the next great thing that will make our lives better, more perfect, ideal. Or … we could rise in time to see the sun shining at the edge of the horizon. We could slowly sip our morning coffee or savor a cup of tea. We could speak kindly to those we hold dear, and to those we meet. We could revel in the moody blues of each day’s sky. We could stand and see and hear and feel the gifts that surround us — if only we’d stop to notice.

No looking back or if ‘only-ness’ setting in. No resolutions.

Only a firm resolve to live … really live in the precious moments we are fortunate to receive. For there’s only one sure thing in life and it is this: death may come at any moment. We must stop the frantic paces, cease the endless quest for more, better, best. We must enter into the new year cloaked in the knowledge that we are loved and cherished by The Creator of the world. He is the only way to make moments count … to make the best better … to fear no evil. For He is with us always, in every moment of our meager past, present and future.

To God be the glory!
