Raise Your Glass To An American Icon

Pyrex is 100! 1915-2015Any cook worth her salt probably has several pieces of Pyrex glass in her pantry. It’s oven safe, easy to clean and most importantly, made in the USA. If you searched my cupboards you would find a couple of Pyrex bread pans and a mixing bowl or two. There is a vintage bowl from my grandmother, and a bake dish from my mom. I’m also the proud owner of a glass measuring cup with turquoise designs. It’s a commemorative piece, celebrating 100 years of Pyrex perfection. That’s right — Pyrex has been around for a century!

The Pyrex 100
To celebrate 100 years of glistening glass, the company is throwing a big ol’ birthday bash in its hometown of Charleroi, Pa. On May 16, 2015, Pyrex will honor the generations of men and women who have proudly made its products, including a new line of limited edition items in sassy colors like red, turquoise and lime green. The star of the party promises to be a tourist destination of epic proportions: the World’s Largest Measuring Cup. The symbol will forever mark Charleroi as the Pyrex capital of the world.

The World’s Largest Measuring Cup is so large it was officially designated by Guinness World Records on March 8, 2015. The four-foot tall cup will hold enough batter to make 3,840 4-inch pancakes!

Join the Celebration! To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Pyrex® brand, World Kitchen has released a limited edition anniversary collection of 13 new items.

Pyrex 2015 Limited Edition Line Features:

  • Colorful and celebratory designs inspired by the iconic vintage Pyrex “Dots” pattern from 1967
  • Anniversary assortment has two color lines: “Centennial” which is red, white and blue in honor of the USA, and “Vintage Future” which can be found in red, turquoise, and green
  • Product packaging is inspired by Vintage Pyrex advertising

The commemorative line is available through 2015. Hurry to Pyrex 100 anniversary collection before they’re gone!

Thank you for sharing… I have several pieces of Pyrex. I will have to add the 4 cup mixing cup to my collection.
